چکیده
This paper describes the development of new air-coupled ultrawideband ground-penetrating radar (GPR) for highway pavement and bridge deck inspections that can achieve high spatial resolution and high inspection performance while operating on vehicles driving at regular highway speeds. Themajor design features include dual-frequency band operation, 8 gigasamples per second high-speed real-time data acquisition, high-speed large volume data transmission and storage, and customized signal-processing algorithms for GPR image enhancement and feature extractions. For design validations, steel reinforcing bar detection experiments in various setups are conducted. The measurement results show good agreement with the subsurface feature configurations. متن کاملAutomated Rebar Detection for Ground-Penetrating Radar
Automated rebar detection in images from groundpenetrating radar (GPR) is a challenging problem and difficult to perform in real-time as a result of relatively low contrast images and the size of the images. This paper presents a rebar localization algorithm, which can accurately locate the pixel locations of rebar within a GPR scan image. The proposed algorithm uses image classification and st...
متن کاملTime-domain sensing of targets buried under a Gaussian, exponential, or fractal rough interface
We numerically examine subsurface sensing via an ultrawideband ground penetrating radar (GPR) system. The target is assumed to reside under a randomly rough air–ground interface and is illuminated by a pulsed plane wave. The underlying wave physics is addressed through application of the multiresolution time-domain (MRTD) algorithm. The scattered time-domain fields are parametrized as a random ...
